Are you already climbing at grade 5 in a climbing park and the climbing gym? Want to start climbing routes with several pitches in alpine terrain? In our SAFETY ACADEMY CLIMBING ADVANCED course you’ll learn all the necessary belaying techniques and skills you need to climb your first well-protected multi-pitch routes independently after the course. Over the course of two days we’ll teach you the basics of belaying, rappelling, the necessary rope commands and plenty of alpine expertise which will then allow you to conquer large rock faces.

MULTI-PITCH CLIMBS – CLIMBING FUN ROCK ROUTES

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Confident and independent climbing and belaying in the climbing gym up to grade V. You should have initial experience of climbing in natural rock climbing parks (grade III-IV). You should be able to walk safely in rough terrain and be fit enough for approaches of 1–2 hours

COURSE GOALS: Independent climbing of bolt-protected multi-pitch routes and mastery of the relevant belay techniques; acquiring basic knowledge and skills for climbing simple, well-secured, fun alpine routes.

COURSE CONTENT – THEORY: Theory of knots, materials and belaying, outdoor climbing, introduction to tour planning, specific features of alpine climbing, use of topo guidebooks, alpine dangers, environmental aspects. 

COURSE CONTENT – PRACTICAL: Belaying, basic knowledge of safety and knot techniques, rope team procedure for lead and follow climbing, various climbing techniques on alpine rock faces, climbing techniques and tactics, rappelling.

Previsional program: 

DAY 1
Welcome of the participants and briefing of the guide trainer.
Big "school" routes, at the foot of the Roc des Boeufs (Entrevernes - Bauges).
Checking of the prerequisites. Learning of the specific techniques of the big routes.
Choice and preparation of the next day's outing. 

DAY 2
Application of the previous day's learning.
Synthesis of the previous days.
Ascent of a big route, adapted to your level, in the Bauges massif (Roc des Boeufs, Banc plats) or Aravis (Col de la Colombière, Jallouvre, la Rosière).
Debriefing and choice of future objectives.

The price includes
Supervision by a high mountain guide or state-certified climbing instructor.
Personal equipment (harness, helmet and slippers) may be loaned subject to availability.
Loan of collective equipment.
The price doesn't include
Accommodation, meals and other costs.
Transport to the meeting point.
Transportation during the course is by carpooling among the participants.
Required equipment
Sportswear, mountain boots, water, snacks, sunscreen, backpack.
Your personal climbing equipment (if you have it):
helmet
harness
descender
lanyard
self-locking device (textile)
climbing shoes.
Required level
You must have the basics of rock climbing: knowing how to secure and climb in the lead.
Be at ease leading in 5a, indoors or on cliffs.
Be able to complete a 500 meter climb in less than 2 hours.
Meeting point
Your guide will contact you to confirm the exact time and place of the meeting on D1.
In general, the meeting is around 8:30am on day 1 and the course ends around 3pm-4pm on day 2.

At any time, the guide reserves the right to modify or interrupt the program due to weather conditions, insufficient technical or physical level of the participants, or for safety reasons.

Accommodations
As far as possible we try to realize the training course on the cliffs of the Roc des Boeufs propitious to learning, a gite nearby will welcome us (Half-board 70 euro/participant/day), the proximity of the lake of Annecy will allow to refresh after a good day of climbing!

260€/participant.
Minimum of 3 participants to confirm the activity - Group of 6 people max.
