Ice climbing in the Aravis

Ice climbing in the Aravis

Ice climbing is an activity that is similar to rock climbing in its physical, vertical nature and its direct relationship with the elements.

The Aravis massif is full of waterfalls, some of which are very rarely visited! This activity will allow you to rediscover isolated areas of the massif in winter, to enjoy its calmness, while bringing you a small dose of adrenaline!

Accessible to all, from beginners to advanced, this original activity is practiced on natural ice falls, one or more pitches long, depending on the winter weather conditions. Equipped with your ice axe, helmet and crampons, you climb along the frozen walls, under the watchful eye of your mountain guide. Your guide will accompany you in a relaxed and no-holds-barred atmosphere, giving you all the useful advice you need on both climbing technique and the movements to adopt.

We propose to discover the following sectors: waterfalls in Manigod (Vaisseau de Pierre), in Le Reposoir (Col de la Colombière), in La Giettaz. Depending on the winter, some waterfalls have more ice than others, so the choice of waterfalls will depend on the conditions at the time.
