We'll start at col des Ânes at 1721m, at the very end of the road passing through Grand Bornand village. From here our goal can be seen in front of us. Up there rises the Pointe Percée and its arête is clearly visible in the sky, that one we're going to climb !
At dusk, we'll start on a path winding into blueberries fields. After 1h30 we'll be at the Pointe Percée hut where we'll have a short break. Here, mountain goats are common !
It's possible to spend a night here to enjoy this wonderful place and make the summit day shorter. Contact us for more details.
From the hut it's another hour walk in a rocky universe made of lapiaz, kind of huge slabs sculpted by erosion.
Now here we are, at the start of the climb, ready for adventure !
We'll put the rope for couple rock climbing pitches leading to the sharp edge of the arête. Could you stand up on it ? A unique ambiance, with sun and Mont-Blanc on the left, shade on the right, the summit in front of us. Here the climb is easy (grade 3-4), but then comes a steeper 5c pitch, and soon we'll be at the summit cross !
There, we'll take time for lunch, enjoying one of the best view ever on the Alps.
Eventually, we'll walk down, by an easy arête first, then a steep path where we'll meet the hikers. And 1H30 later we'll be back at the hut. It's another 45mns to reach the carpark where we could enjoy our course from the terrasse of the bar with a welcome beer !
