Your guide will meet you on the snow front of La Clusaz, in front of the Beauregard cable car (near the ESF kindergarten). Let's go for an introduction to ski touring, the gateway to mountain skiing. This first ski touring experience will allow you to familiarize yourself with the technical equipment (ski touring, ski boots with vibram soles, skins, telescopic ski poles and safety equipment: avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe), and also to discover a new approach to skiing in the mountains, far from the ski lifts and the sectors designed for alpine skiers.
On the way up, we will move between pine forests, chalets and sheltered combes, in order to take advantage of fresh, powdery snow if the weather allows it. On the way down, and depending on your level, it will be possible to ski off-piste or on marked runs ( several options are available, from the green slope to the black slope), which is a real advantage when you are a little tired after a ski ascent, even if the difference in altitude remains modest.
Throughout the itinerary, your guide, a connoisseur and expert of the Aravis massif, will be there to teach you all the good practices of ski touring, to give you all the useful advice to succeed in the conversions and how to evolve in ski touring. Once at the top, you will enjoy a magnificent panorama of the peaks surrounding the family ski resort of La Clusaz: Mont Lachat, L'Etale, La Porte des Aravis and La Pointe Percée. We will take the time to take the water bottle or tea out of the rucksack like a real mountaineer.
For those who want to go further in their ski touring practice, you will have to consider a wild ski touring outing, outside the ski area. This is possible either for beginners or advanced skiers and even for those who want to learn about avalanche safety. Whatever your desires, the village resort of La Clusaz remains an ideal base camp for ski touring in the heart of the Aravis.
