The crossing of the Dômes de Miage is one of the great mountaineering routes, both for its aerial and aesthetic aspect, and for the good physical condition it requires...
The first day, dedicated to the ascent to the Conscrits mountain refuge (2600m) will be very complete since after crossing the Contamines-Montjoie forest, we first reach the Tré-la-tête hut (1969m), first break before entering a mineral world.... The path then winds its way along the steep rocky slopes bordering the Tré-la-tête glacier, facing the Mont Tondu, to the Conscrits refuge. If the weather allows it, you can admire the magnificent sunset over the valley, but also the peaks of the Aravis chain and the Tournette in the background.
The next day, we leave the refuge early to get on the Tré-la-tête glacier and reach the Col des Dômes at 3564 metres. The route that follows is the culmination of these two days: a snowy ridge that fades into the sky will lead you to the West summit (3666m), then to the Col de la Bérangère, and the Aiguille of the same name. At higher altitudes, the walk becomes slower, but you will take your time to enjoy this masterful crossing and the view of Mont Blanc, before descending to the Conscrits refuge in the valley.
Ascent to the Conscrits hut: allow about 6 hours of walking, for 1500m of ascent. Night at the Conscrits hut
