D+920m D-540m Dist 10,5km 4h45 of walking
Welcome and briefing.
Our adventure begins at the Forclaz pass and its magnificent view of Lake Annecy. We join the paragliders take-off and then go along the Roux rock. After a small cabled passage, the view opens up on the imposing west face of the Tournette. We pass the alpine pastures of the chalet de l'Aulp to reach the col des nantets. The ascent is more sustained until the Roc Lancrenaz. We arrive on a high mountain pasture, the mountain pasture of the chalets of Aulp Riant where the cows graze quietly. We continue our way to the point of Talamarche, the high point of our day. Then we go back down to our perched refuge.
Night in a mountain hut (Dormitory).
Day 2 : Crossing the montremont valley
D+1280m D-1060m Dist 12,5 km 6h15 walk
Our day starts with a steep descent to the village of Montremont. Once in the valley, we are at the foot of the North face of the Tournette, the atmosphere is hostile. We go up the steep slope towards the Frêtes de Rosairy pass. We will certainly have the chance to observe ibexes as we approach the pass. The path is not very frequented. Once we reach the pass, we descend towards the Rosairy refuge and cross the East face of the Tournette via the Vorets pass to reach our refuge for the night.
Night in a mountain hut (dormitory).
Day 3 : Ascent of the Tournette
D+680m D-1285m Dist 12km 5h15 of walking
It's the big day! Let's go to the ascent of the summit via its southern flank. We will then arrive under the chair, a limestone monolith which is the highest point of the massif. To climb it we will have to pass through a narrow passage equipped with chains and a ladder. Vertical atmosphere guaranteed. The reward is there: a 360° view on the Alps, the Jura and the lake of Annecy. The descent will be done via the western side, steeper before joining the mountain pastures of the chalet de l'aulp then the path of the rocher du roux until the col de la Forclaz.
And if you still want more, why not try the multi-day treks?
