Multi-rope - climbing long rock routes
Course requirements: Basic knowledge from ALPINE CLIMBING Basic or other sport climbing course, mastery of important belaying and knot techniques for single-rope routes, experience of lead climbing on alpine faces (difficulty level Ill-IV), good fitness (for 1-2 hours of climbing).
Course goals: Independently climbing a drilled-in, multi-rope route (difficulty grade IV-VI), use of mobile securing devices.
Course content - theory: Theory of knots and belaying, tour planning for multi-pitch routes, special features of alpine climbing, tour planning, use of topoguides, material science, alpine dangers, environmental aspects.
Course content - practical: Belay variants, securing techniques at a belay station, orientation on the rock face, first use of wedges and clamping devices, lead and follow climbing, process of climbing and belaying as a rope team, climbing the first multi-pitch route, abseil and release techniques.
Day 1: Meeting in the morning at the climbing site of la grande jeanne in Annecy, on the program revision of the fundamentals (making a belay in climbing, abseiling, triangulation, use of mechanical jammers: camalot and jammers), dispersion at the end of the afternoon.
Day 2: Climbing at the Roc de Boeufs or North-South traverse (Entrevernes) 20 minutes from Annecy, big routes in adventure terrain on wedges, lunula and friends, level 4+ to 5+ in head, evolution in autonomous rope.
Day 3: Big route in adventure terrain (level 5+ max), evolution in movement, taut rope, friends, wedges and lunula. Several possibilities according to the technical level: Tournette West or North ridge, Paroi de Borderan, Dents de Lanfon... Dispersion at the end of the day
