The ski resort of La Clusaz is known for its ski slopes and its cross-country ski routes in winter but also for its via ferrata because it is one of the most beautiful of the northern pre-Alps and the massif of Aravis. Accessible from early spring, when snow conditions allow and the rock is dry, the La Clusaz via ferrata, also and especially called the Yves Pollet-Villard via ferrata, is one of the outdoor experiences not to be missed when you are passing through the Aravis chain or in the Annecy region. The opportunity to offer you a parenthesis in your Haute Savoie getaway, an immersion in nature which is welcome especially when the temperatures are rising.
Only 40 minutes (25km) from Lake Annecy, you can easily reach the Col des Aravis, the starting point of the via route at an altitude of 1500m, with the possibility of parking on site at the foot of the Combe de Borderan, and a few steps from the Aravis climbing school.
When you arrive at the via ferrata car park, you will meet your guide who will provide you with your equipment : harness, via lanyards, absorber and helmet. As a high mountain enthusiast and professional, your guide will give you all the information and instructions that will allow you to have fun in complete safety during the activity.
For the topo of the exit, you start with an approach walk of about 25min after which the path turns into a vertical course (thanks to the bars, cables and rungs) relatively accessible thanks to many loopholes that allow you to leave the course in the event of a thunderstorm or fatigue. But beware, it is nonetheless a long and sometimes tiring undertaking. The journey time is around 3 to 4 hours to the summit that you reach after crossing a footbridge of about twenty meters above the void: sensations and breathtaking views guaranteed! Once your ascent is complete, you arrive at the highest point of the route at 1800m altitude with a total of 300m vertical drop. The return time to the vehicles is approximately 45min to the parking lot via an alpine path in the Borderan valley.

Important: the departure times for this via ferrata change depending on the weather. The summer meetings are given at 7:30 am on site to avoid the hot weather in the middle of the day and thus guarantee a nice outing in complete safety.
